Early morning on April 23, 2018 while standing at the shore of a small lake, I first watched a Great Blue Heron fly high overhead. A quiet & very peaceful morning & it's spring! A few minutes later & much to my surprise I see this Bald Eagle coming from the same direction as the heron. This would be the closest encounter I've had with a Bald Eagle, my heart was racing, adrenaline pumping; who needs coffee?
A special morning I will always remember. While I always loved birds & animals of all kinds since I was a little girl, I just couldn't imagine the great fun it would be to someday photograph what draws me in to the natural world. A new day with the hope of adventure awaiting just around the corner & for this photographer, the spark of life.
